HC Deb 12 July 1990 vol 176 cc302-3W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security, further to his reply of 20 March,Official Report, column 593, what factors account for the further delay in resolving Mr. Davies's claim for a war pension.

Mrs. Gillian Shephard

I regret that the consultant's report received on 18 May 1990 was inconclusive. A further consultant's examination is necessary, and it is hoped that this can be arranged as soon as possible. If a war pension is awarded it will commence from the date of claim.
