§ Mr. Hinchliffe
To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many licences have been issued by his Department for falconers to set (1) sparrowhawks on to(a) blackbirds and (b) other birds; and (2) other birds of prey on to (a) blackbirds and (b) other birds.

In 1989, 60 licences were issued to falconers to fly birds of prey at specified quarry species as follows:
