To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry how many civil servants in his Department of the rank of principal or equivalent and above are graduates of Oxford and Cambridge; and how many are graduates of other universities.

So far as is readily ascertainable, 201 and 701 respectively. The latter figure includes both other universities and institutions.
