§ The Minister of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Trefgarne)The Director General of Fair Trading is at present considering this proposed acquisition and in due course will advise my right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry on the question of reference to the Monopolies and Mergers Commission in the normal way. It would not be appropriate to make any further comment on this bid at this stage.
