§ Mr. TrippierI am pleased to announce that, subject to any necessary parliamentary approval, an extra £11 million will be made available to the National Rivers Authority this financial year, if required. This is additional to the £93 million grant in aid already agreed. This decision will enable the authority to continue its planned capital restructuring programme and to carry out the full range of its pollution control and other functions, in line with the Government's commitment to maintaining the quality of the water environment.
