What plans they have to issue revised codes of practice in accordance with Section 67(7) of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

My right honourable friend the Home Secretary today laid before Parliament draft revised codes in accordance with Section 67 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984. The Home Secretary intends to bring them into operation with effect from 1st January 1991 by order made by statutory instrument and will seek their approval by resolution of each House of Parliament as soon as possible.
