§ Mr. MellorThe construction of a new prison at Fazakerley will not proceed until the objections raised by Liverpool city council have been dealt with. Assuming that it is not possible to resolve the differences between the Home Office and the city council, the matter will be referred to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment, who will decide whether it is desirable to hold a non-statutory public local inquiry.
