§ Mr. CoxTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions he is having with those local authorities which are giving help to refugees from Somalia now living in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Peter LloydI have been asked to reply. The Home Office is, together with other relevant departments, considering the present arrangements for asylum seekers, including those from Somalia, to see whether any changes are necessary. Local authority associations will be involved as appropriate in future, but no discussions are taking place with them at the present time.
