§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyNo. As my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State announced in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Harrow, West (Mr Hughes) on 9 March at column898, a steering group has been established to look at the implications of the proposed closure of the clinical research centre at Northwick Park hospital. The steering group is chaired by the Department of Health and has representatives from the health service and the Medical Research Council. The steering group will be making its first report to Ministers in the near future.
