To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to provide suitable low-cost accommodation for those students displaced by the loss of housing benefit from September.

The Government's housing policies for both the public and the private sector will help to ensure an adequate supply of low-cost accommodation. The proposed top-up loans for student support will be at a level well in excess of a student's average likely entitlement to benefits.
