To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the rate of economic growth for Scotland for the latest year for which figures are available.

Using United Kingdom price deflators, the latest income-based estimate of Scotland's gross domestic product shows that in 1988 the Scottish economy grew by some 4.7 per cent.
