§ Mrs. RumboldWe regard the development of performance indicators as a key element in the effective management of schools. The Department has recently circulated to all local education authorities a list of indicators identified by schools in a pilot exercise as particularly valuable for this purpose. I shall send my hon. Friend a copy of the aide memoire, together with my speech on the occasion of its publication.
