HC Deb 30 January 1990 vol 166 c120W
Ms. Primarolo

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) how many people will be affected by the abolition of reduced earnings allowances in the industrial benefit scheme;

(2) how much money will be saved in the first year by the abolition of reduced earnings allowances in the industrial benefit scheme.

Mr. Scott

An estimated 14,400 new claimants a year will be affected by the abolition of reduced earnings allowance, which will result in a reduction in expenditure of about £1 million in 1990–91.
