HL Deb 30 January 1990 vol 515 cc291-2WA
Lord Oram

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What progress has been made by the 16-Member Expert Group on Commodities set up by the Secretary General of the United Nations; and when is it anticipated that the report will be published.

The Minister of State, Department of Trade and Industry (Lord Trefgarne)

The UN Group of Experts on African commodity problems is a non-governmental body. I understand that the group's proposed report has yet to be finalised. A further meeting of the group is scheduled to take place in April and it is expected that the report will be submitted to the UN Secretary-General shortly thereafter.
