HC Deb 29 January 1990 vol 166 cc6-7W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry if he will give full publicity to the arrangements offered by supervisory bodies seeking recognition under the Companies Act 1989; and if he will give the public an opportunity to comment on the acceptability of such arrangements.

Mr. Redwood

My right hon. Friend can give no undertakings to publicise the details of any application he receives, since this would rule out the possibility of a body including information supplied in confidence in its application. He will, however, carry out such consultation as he thinks necessary to enable him to reach a view on an application. He will take into account any comments he receives.
