HC Deb 29 January 1990 vol 166 c75W
Mr. Parry

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if there is any evidence of danger to animals that are fed food containing sheep offal; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclean

Sheep offal is subject to the prohibition on the use of ruminant-derived protein in ruminant feedstuffs as these species may be susceptible to the scrapie agent. There is no evidence to suggest that it poses a risk to non-ruminant species such as pigs and poultry.
