Mr. Peter Morrison

Prospects for the oil production industry are extremely encouraging. I expect continued recovery of oil output in 1990. Output could be up to 10 million tonnes higher than the 1989 level of 91 million tonnes.

My Department is currently reviewing its forecast ranges for oil production for the next five years. This will be presented to Parliament when it is available.
