§ Mr. ParryTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the outcome of his inspectors' visit to the Viking Trader at Fleetwood in the week beginning 15 January.
§ Mr. McLoughlinA Department of Transport marine surveyor attended the Viking Trader on 19 January to investigate concerns that had been expressed about one of the securing pins holding the bow visor. Temporary securing arrangements were made to the surveyor's satisfaction, and the vessel allowed to sail. It is understood that the visor has now been welded permanently closed.
