Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) how many Simba armoured personnel carriers have been supplied to the Philippines by GKN; what assurances have been received as to their proposed use; and if he will make a statement;

(2) if he will make a statement summarising the main features of the deal involving the sale of armoured personnel carriers to the Philippines, including details of offsetting arrangements.

It has been the consistent policy of successive Administrations not to provide details of defence exports to specific countries.
