§ Mr. LangInverkip power station is presently owned by the South of Scotland electricity board and ownership will pass to Scottish Power as part of the transfer scheme arrangements for the Scottish industry under the Electricity Act 1989. Decisions on the future use of the station will be for the industry to take in the light of its assessment of the contribution which Inverkip is likely to make to its ability to maintain an efficient, co-ordinated and economical system of electricity supply, taking into account a range of factors including operating costs and the relative prices of fuels.
