In the five years since 1985 around 1,490 posts were transferred to Glasgow under the Government's earlier dispersal programme; of these, 1,400 were in the Ministry of Defence and the remainder in the Passport Office. In 547W addition there have been some minor moves by Departments to Scotland taken on their own initiatives, but no central records are kept.
