§ Mr. John PattenNo. It is for highway authorities to satisfy themselves as to the adequacy of street lighting in their areas. However, we are anxious to know more about the link between street lighting and crime, and with the fear of crime, which is why we have contracted Southampton university to conduct a major study into these links in Wandsworth. Interim results from this study are expected to be available during April.
