To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what are current levels of natural gas leakages; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what research his Department has commissioned or proposes into the incidence of natural gas leakages; and if he will make a statement.

My Department has already published estimates of United Kingdom methane emissions, including those from natural gas leakage. Discussions on further work with interested parties are in hand.
