HC Deb 12 January 1990 vol 164 c784W
Mr. John Evans

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment (1) how many unofficial strikes took place in Great Britain in 1989; and what were the comparable figures for each of the five previous years;

(2) what was the total number of days lost through unofficial strikes in Great Britain in 1989; and what were the comparable figures for the five previous years.

Mr. Nicholls

Separate statistics on unofficial strikes ceased to be published as a regular series in 1981. However, a limited amount of information from a special exercise was included in the Government's Green Paper "Unofficial Action and the Law", a copy of which is in the House of Commons Library.
