§ Mr. NeubertThe information is not available in the format requested. In financial year 1988–89, a total of £92,000 was spent on the Army scholarship scheme. Each scholar received £750 per academic year at that time. The award was increased to £1,050 with effect from 1 April 1989.
There are currently 96 scholars, including nine females.
The award of an Army scholarship does not rest on the head teacher's endorsement alone. Applicants are required to meet the necessary academic standards as well as passing a test, a medical examination and an interview.
