To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether he has now appointed the members of the Unrelated Live Transplant Regulatory Authority.

Yes. I am pleased to announce that the chairman of the authority is Professor Martin Bobrow, Prince Philip professor of paediatric research at the united medical schools of Guy's and St. Thomas's. The other members are:

  • The Reverend Professor Gordon R. Dunstan, Professor Emeritus of Moral and Social Theology, King's College, London.
  • Dr. Philip A. Dyer, Head of Tissue Typing, St. Mary's Hospital, Manchester.
  • Mrs. Diana Eccles, Chairman, Ealing Health Authority.
  • Professor Mary G. McGeown, Queen's University, Belfast.
  • Sir Michael McNair-Wilson, Member of Parliament for Newbury.
  • Mr. Stuart G. Macpherson, Senior Lecturer in Surgery, University of Glasgow; Hon. Consultant Surgeon, Glasgow Health Board.
  • Dr. Netar P. Mallick, Senior Lecturer in Renal Disease, Manchester University; Physician in Charge, Department of Renal Medicine, Manchester Royal Infirmary.
  • Professor John R. Salaman, Professor of Transplant Surgery, University of Wales; Consultant Surgeon, Cardiff Royal Infirmary.
  • Miss Sally M. Taber, Director of Nursing, London Bridge Hospital.
  • Mr. James Wellbeloved, Director General, National Kidney Research Fund.
  • Mrs. Celia Wight, Senior Regional Transplant Coordinator, Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge.
