To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many persons are homeless in each of the district council areas.

The only figures available relate to the number of applicants assessed as homeless by local authorities under part II of the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987, which will not be equal to the numbers currently homeless. These figures, as recorded by local authorities, are given in the following table:
