To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has received any complaints from the Chief Constable of North Wales about the conduct by the Crown prosecution service of north Wales of criminal proceedings against persons accused of assaults against police officers.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he has received any representations from the chief constable of north Wales about the relationship between the police and the Crown prosecution service.

No. Within the forum provided by the Director of Public Prosecution's senior liaison committee, on which the Home Office is also represented, the chief constable of north Wales, in his capacity as chairman of the Association of Chief Police Officers' crime committee, has raised matters of mutual interest to the police and the Crown prosecution service and has drawn attention to the effect of certain Crown prosecution service requirements on the police service.
