To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will publish a table showing the latest figures of how many people are dependent on(a) income support, (b) family credit and (c) housing benefit, broken down into claimants, dependants and children and into England, Scotland and Wales.

Since 1979 the Department has produced an annual publication entitled "Tables of Social Benefit Systems in the European Communities". Copies of this publication are in the Library.
