§ Sir John WheelerTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer when he expects to respond to the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General on the Royal Mint especially in regard to quality assurance procedures (British standard 5750) and fixed costs borne by the taxpayer in regard to marketing, promotion and sales.
§ Mr. RyderThe Public Accounts Committee heard evidence on the Comptroller and Auditor-General's report on 19 February. It will issue its own report in due course and the Government will then give their considered response. I therefore do not wish to anticipate what the Public Accounts Committee will say at this stage.
