§ Mr. AtkinsThe Department sought views from the road haulage industry, traffic commissioners, the transport tribunal, local authorities, parish councils, the police, trade unions, environmental interest groups and a number of private individuals who had expressed an interest.
Both reviews attracted wide-ranging and evenly balanced opinion. Overall reactions suggest that our approach is about right.
