HL Deb 22 February 1990 vol 516 c500WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

When the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board will adjudicate the claim of Mr. Doraj Asgor, seriously injured in an attack in Lambeth in May 1987.

The Minister of State, Home Office (Earl Ferrers)

Under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme, decisions on individual claims are exclusively a matter for the board. An interim award was paid to Mr. Asgor in November 1989. I understand from the board that they hope to be able to make a final settlement of Mr. Asgor's claim once they have received some further information they have requested about his circumstances, including a further medical report.
