§ Mr. AtkinsThe decision to instal the traffic lights was taken by Southwark borough council following consultation with the traffic control systems unit. The Department of Transport was notified of the council's intention. The traffic lights and pelican crossings installed by the council are designed to improve safety for pedestrians. I see no reason to intervene.
