HC Deb 21 February 1990 vol 167 c822W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will ensure those from Azad Kashmir who seek political asylum in the United Kingdom are interviewed before decisions are taken on such applications.

Mr. Peter Lloyd

[holding answer 19 February 1990]: I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave to his question of 5 December 1989 at column 182. With the exception of those whose applications are based solely on links with the Pakistan People's party, asylum applicants from Azad Kashmir would be interviewed before a refusal decision was taken.
