To ask the Secretary of State for Wales how many courses were offered by the Welsh joint education committee(a) at the start of the GCSE programme and (b) at the current time.

Fifty-three courses were offered by the WJEC at the start of the GCSE programme, and 57 courses are offered at the present time.
