To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he is considering making tests on blood donations to ensure that they are not contaminated by Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.

There is no blood test to detect the causative agent of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease. However, there is no evidence that this rare disease can be transmitted via blood.
