HC Deb 20 February 1990 vol 167 cc662-3W
Sir Eldon Griffiths

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions he has had with Forest Heath district council regarding the impact on Eriswell parish of the loss to its local revenues of the rates previously paid by American service men and their dependants living in that community; what share of Eriswell parish's revenues arose last year from the Americans living there; by how much he expects the contributions of Eriswell's British residents to be increased this year to cover the cost of the same services, that last year were paid for by parish rates paid by Americans and British; what steps he is taking to enable Forest Heath district council to offset Eriswell parish's loss of income from its American community from the moneys that he expects to receive from the United States in lieu of community charge payments by its nationals and their dependants living in that district; and if he will make a statement.
