To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many corneal transplants took place in each of the last five years in the National Health Service.

Accurate statistics are not available on the number of corneal transplants performed in the National Health Service. The United Kingdom transplant service estimates that the United Kingdom total is in the region of 2,000 transplants per annum.
