§ Mr. Terry DavisTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport when he will publish the report and recommendations of phase I of the research programme into the safety of roll-on roll-off ferries.
§ Mr. McLoughlinAll the projects in phase I of the Department of Transport-sponsored research programme into ways of increasing the safety of ro-ro passenger ferries have now been completed. The steering committee which has been supervising the programme has nearly completed its assessment of the results, and I expect to receive its report next month. I will, of course, need to consider that report, but it is my intention to make the report and the results of the research widely available as soon as possible.
