To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what is the current number of community hospitals in Wales; and what he expects the figure to be in five and 10 years' time.

Mr. Grist

There are currently 30 community hospitals in Wales. On the basis of health authorities' present plans a further five such hospitals may be completed by 1995 and perhaps as many as 11 within 10 years.
