To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the limit set on the radioactivity of wastes disposed of at Drigg in(a) 1985 to 1990 and (b) 1990 to 1995.

Disposal limits are specified in the certificate of authorisation issued to BNFL by the authorising Departments. I will send the hon. Member copies of the certificates covering the relevant period. It is Government policy to keep all such certificates under regular review.
