[holding answer 12 February 1990]: The establishment of the Northern Ireland Community Relations Council was formally announced on 4 January 1990. To date, a director, Dr. Mari Fitzduff, and three development officers have been appointed. Twenty-two places on the council have been filled out of a possible 24, and the remaining two places are expected to be filled by the council within the next few months. The council has met twice a nd is presently considering its organisational structure and its development strategy. It will probably publish a strategy paper after Easter. The council hopes to open new offices in Belfast by mid-February.
