HC Deb 15 February 1990 vol 167 c338W
60. Mr. Cyril D. Townsend

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer how much money was raised by the Exchequer, in each of the last three financial years, through value added tax on charities.

Mr. Ryder

There is no comprehensive information available on the subject but it is estimated that charities pay between £150 million and £200 million in value added tax each year.
