§ Mrs. ChalkerI refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave to the hon. Member for Stretford (Mr. Lloyd) on 22 January about the recent visit of British officials to Cambodia.
We have agreed to co-finance eight projects with British NGOs under the joint funding scheme, for which a total of £257,000 has been committed from ODA resources. Of this sum £128,000 has been spent in the current financial year. We are also actively considering new proposals which have been submitted to us by the NGOs in response to our recent announcement that we wished to build up our humanitarian aid to Cambodia. In 1989–90 we are also providing a contribution of £250,000 to UNICEF for its programmes inside Cambodia.
