§ Mr. NichollsFour directives recently adopted under article 118A (Health and Safety of Workers), and a further four draft such directives currently before the Council of Ministers are expected to require implementing legislation. The intention is to implement mainly by regulations under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974, and in line with the regulatory philosophy of the Act. For those directives still in draft the present assessment is of course subject to final decisions on content. Implementation proposals will be published by the Health and Safety Commission for consultation in due course.
