To ask the Minister for the Civil Service how he intends to counter racial discrimination in appointments to the Civil Service.

The Civil Service is an equal opportunity employer; selection is on merit by fair and open competition. Action to support this policy includes monitoring recruitment procedures, validating selection tests for different racial groups and equal opportunity training for those involved in selection.
