§ Mr. BoyesTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on his policy in relation to naval arms control.
§ Mr. Archie HamiltonNATO's current priorities in arms control were set out in "The Alliance's Comprehensive Concept" in May 1989. In the conventional field this called primarily for the establishment of a secure and stable balance of conventional forces in Europe at lower levels. Naval forces are, by the agreement of all parties, specifically excluded from the CFE negotiations.
