§ Mr. GristA survey of contaminated land in Wales which included abandoned waste disposal sites was undertaken in Wales in 1982 and updated in 1988. The results of the survey have been widely publicised and a copy of the survey has been placed on the Library of the House. Current sites are licensed by district councils in Wales who are under a duty to ensure that waste disposal sites do not cause pollution of water.
