To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the impending release of Nelson Mandela.

We have been at the forefront of those calling for Mr. Mandela's early and unconditional release. We warmly welcome the decision announced by President de Klerk on 2 February that Mr. Mandela will shortly be released.
