§ Mr. MaudeAccording to the December 1980 census the population of the Falkland Islands was then 1,813. The figure for the next census, in December 1986, was 1,947. We do not know precisely what the population was in 1982, but local estimates place it at around 1,700. The estimated current population is about 2,050.
